Historical Auction Block (HAB)
HAB RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DELETE AN AUCTION FOR ANY REASON!
HAB was created by collectors for collectors. This is meant to be a platform where collectors can buy and sell original military items for their collections. Also, we understand that there are those in our ranks that are reenactors for historical purposes, so we do allow reproduction items to be sold if they are clearly marked as such.
HAB takes very seriously the fraudulent sale of reproductions as originals. HAB will make every attempt to ensure that items are being sold as described, but it is the final responsibility of the buyer to have sufficient knowledge of the item being purchased. All items are purchased as caveat emptor (“buyer beware”), although sellers should note in their posts, whenever possible, if an item is a known reproduction.
We ask that sellers offering items as original give a minimum 7-day return policy.
The HAB moderating staff cannot and will not act as an authenticating authority.
By your participation in the auction, you are agreeing to NOT hold HAB and/or administrators liable for any damages resulting from any transactions originating from the auction site.
HAB makes every effort to guard member privacy. We do NOT sell, share, or trade personal information.

Medal of Honor
There will be NO buying, selling, and/or trading of the Medal of Honor, which includes the medal, ribbon, button, and/or rosette. NO EXCEPTIONS
Because HAB is a U.S. registered company, we are fully governed by the laws of the United States. Under Title 18 United States Code Sec. 1001 (another section deals with buying), it is illegal to buy, sell, and/or trade the Medal of Honor medal, ribbon, button, or rosette. The law is broad enough that, although you are the one listing the item for trade, the government may subject even the venue (i.e., HAB) and its owners to both fines and jail time. For obvious reasons, we do not wish to take such a risk. Thus, all listing attempting to buy, sell, and/or trade the medal, ribbon, button, and/or rosette will be immediately removed, and the user may be subject being banned.
For more information on the law, please see: Title 18 United States Code. Sec. 1001, entitled "Statements or entries generally," June 25, 1948, Ch. 45, 62 Stat. 749.
HAB does NOT tolerate any forms of discrimination, prejudice, bigotry, inequity, sexism, intolerance. Any listings violating this provision will be immediately deleted.
HAB recognizes that cultures and traditions change over time. Thus, HAB allows a historical exception to the rule of discrimination. Listing historical documents, items, information, etc. involving past culture and social mores (i.e., social traditions) may be deemed acceptable even though it may go against modern social traditions about the subject.
Examples include original printed materials from WWI, WWII, Korean and Vietnam Wars: Propaganda pamphlets, posters, books, photographs that are collected for historical purposes ONLY.
ABSOLUTELY NO LISTING OF MODERN (Post 2001) DOCUMENTS, ITEMS, INFORMATION, ETC CONTAINING ANY IDEOLOGICAL VIEWS. Additionally, members found listing these items subject to being permanently banned.
HAB owners and operators are not as a whole nor personally liable for any inappropriate communications (including posts, private messages, and/or e-mails) made by its members.
HAB cannot police the internet access of users from foreign countries. Therefore, if you are prohibited from purchasing and/or importing/exporting various types of militaria (such as Third Reich) it is expected you will abide by your nation’s laws. HAB does not condone the violation of the laws of any nation regarding the sale of foreign and possibly prohibited items.
HAB does not allow the posting (whether in the body of the description or “watermarked” on photos) of general links to outside websites for additional pictures or where other militaria, not listed on this site, is for sale. This feature is for the protection of our users.
HAB will provide to any law enforcement agency or court of law, any known user information whenever demanded.
SELLERS AND BUYERS:
All users must be 18 years of age or older to register on the HAB website.
Buyers and sellers are required to have a credit card, issued in the user’s name, and on file with HAB. Credit card on file will be used for listing fees and to verify age.
SELLERS, be clear about the terms of the transaction and include information about the forms of payment you accept, any taxes or other fees, shipping and handling, and your return policy. Be upfront and honest about these terms, as this will make for a positive experience for you and your buyers.
SELLERS, you are not obligated to accept returns, but we highly recommend you allow them. If you do accept returns, make sure you clearly state your return policy, including who pays for the return postage, and how the refund is issued.
BUYERS, be sure you have read and understand all the terms from each seller. Ask any questions you have before bidding. Once you place a bid, you enter a contract with the seller to purchase an item if you are the winning bidder.
BUYERS, it is your responsibility to be knowledgeable of the items you are purchasing. It is the sole responsibility of the seller to collect and remit sales tax.
3 Steps to Sales Tax Compliance
1) Register for a sales tax permit. Before you do anything else, get compliant by registering for a sales tax permit in your nexus state.
2) Collect sales tax. Next, set up and start collecting sales tax online for all your online sales.
3) Report and file sales tax.
Payment via PayPal Gift is NOT allowed. You may not require that buyers pay as PayPal Gift, as this limits the buyer’s ability to seek PayPal refunds. If a listing requires the use of PayPal Gift, the listing will be deleted. Also, buyers should not ask sellers to list a purchase as a "gift" or falsely report the value on official custom forms, as this requires a seller to commit fraud. NOTE: If seller has a policy restricting shipment to US, Europe, etc. please include what country or countries you will ship to in your listing. If only ship in the US, please clearly state this on your listing.
Each user is limited to registering no more than one account. If HAB finds that a member has registered, or attempted to register, more than one account, that account is subject to removal and the user may face suspension and or banning. By registering on HAB you agree not to hold more than one account.
NO SHILL BIDDING
HAB wants to maintain a fair marketplace for all our users, and as such, shill bidding is prohibited on HAB.
If you believe another member is shill bidding, you do not need to report it to us. HAB has systems in place to detect and monitor bidding patterns and practices. If we identify any malicious behavior, steps will be taken to prevent it.
Bidding on your own items with another account (shill bidding) is prohibited. Violators of this policy will have all accounts deleted and be banned from HAB.
As a general note, we have set the maximum reserve fee at $5 to help prevent shill bidding. Sellers, this is an economical form of insurance for you if you do not want to sell your item for less than a certain amount.
